Lip Synch Tutorial

During the lesson i was taught how to lip sync. This is to make our video more realistic, we sing the song just to get the lip movements then we cut out the sound and out the real song over it matching with the movement of the lips which makes out as if the person actually sang the song.

Firstly i was given a song with scenes from another person, there were alot of shots for example high angle shots, long angle shots, midshot, closeups and over the shoulder shots. I chose 'a word' from the song and the person performing and made that my marking point. So i marked the spot of the word and matched it up with the actualy song, which made the performers performance match up with the song to show they are actually singing it.

Through this activity i learnt how to mark spots in the song. I learnt how to match it up with the actual song without it looking dogey and realistic. My skills on final cut pro have improved and I have a better knowledge on how to handle it.
The task was not challenging, in my opinion i would say it was more exciting getting and experience to use a differerent software. But matching up the song with the performance was abit tricky because at times the performer was slower than the actual singer of the song, so to solve this problem I was told to cut it and slot in the other shots which made the video more professional.
On final cut pro I learnt how to use different tools, like the marking tool, inputs and outputs and blending the shots in with the whole song.
Looking at the editing of music songs it differs from the editing of the thriller films. Editing music videos are easier as you only focus on 'one thing' (one word) and just by putting it in place with that it does all the work and puts the whole song in place. And if it doesnt you can always put different shots to blend it. On the other hand, thriller videos have to blend in so noone can tell a difference and you need a lot of shots to make it more exciting to watch. But both editings are very interesting and helps discover new softares and techniques.
